If you’re arriving from Tokyo, there are a few options for getting to Hakuba.
You can get a limited express train from Tokyo Shinjuku Station to Hakuba Station (estimated travel time = 3 hours), or train to Nagano and jump on a bus to Happo Bus Station.Buses also run from Tokyo to Hakuba, and are the cheapest option, with approximately 5 hours travel time.
If you’re arriving from Osaka, your best option is to take the bullet train to Nagoya, followed by a JR train to Nagano, and then the bus to Hakuba. Total travel time is estimated at around 4 hours.
We offer a free pick-up service from Hakuba to our lodge in Gorgu, which is only a 10 minute drive away.

Once you arrive in Hakuba, you can either take the bus to Goryu (Escal Plaza), or we also offer free pick-up services.

Some of the best mountains for skiing and snowboarding are only a short distance from Twin Peaks Lodge.
Goryu Ski Resort is the closest, at only 600m walking distance and connected via gondola and chairlifts to Iimori and Hakuba 47.
Other well-known slopes nearby are Happo-One, Iwatake, Tsugeike, Cortina and more.

Other than skiing and snowboarding, Hakuba offers a variety of activities for all to enjoy.
Onsens (hot springs) are a popular choice, particularly during the snow season, with numerous options available throughout Hakuba.
The world famous Hot Spring Monkeys is a must see for visitors to the Hakuba region. Watch as monkeys bathe in naturally occurring hot springs in a beautiful national park only 90 minutes from Hakuba.

Lift passes can be purchased at the base of each ski resort, online, or via our reception desk.

Hakuba has its own shuttle bus service, named Hakuba Valley Shuttle Bus, which connects the nine ski resorts and is free with a Hakuba Valley All Mountain Pass. There are also various free shuttle buses operated by individual resorts.

You can rent snow gear (including snowboards, skis, boots, helmets, etc.) in Hakuba from major shops like Spicy Rentals, Rhythm Rentals, and Central Snow Sports which offers good-quality gear.
Other options include resort-based rentals such as Goryu Rentals at Hakuba Goryu, offering convenient access right at the lifts.

While there are well connected shuttle services between resorts in Hakuba, to get the most out of your experience with full freedom to explore, hiring a car is a pretty good choice.
There are a few local car hire companies, however you could also opt for selecting a rental car from Nagano after arriving via train. You’ll find more car rental companies here, with a larger selection.

Beginner slopes can be found across the Hakuba Valley, including our very own Goryu Ski Resort.
Each resort offers a variety of green, red, and black runs, so we highly recommend downloading a map of each resort to stay on top of all the runs and select your favourites.

Escal Plaza - Twin Peaks closest onsen & sauna. Dive straight in after your snow sesh, or walk 7 mins from Twin Peaks for a nightly soak or sauna.
Hakuba Ryujin Obuya - Hakuba’s biggest onsen, set in a traditional Ryoken (Japanese-style building) you can enjoy outdoor and indoor soaks, a sauna and cold plunge in a stunning setting. Just a 4 minute drive or 15 minute walk from Twin Peaks.
